Best Fish It! fish: tier list S to D

Last updated: November 6, 2026

Tiers built straight from the value data on this site: the same estimates, grouped into bands, with the reasoning for each band written out. Because the values are rarity ladder estimates, the tiers track rarity and catch odds closely, and that is stated openly rather than dressed up as a discovery. What the tiers add is the practical read: which fish anchor a trade, which fund your next rod, and which are bulk.

Trading status, checked November 6, 2026: trading is live from Level 20 at Trading Plaza booths. Use these tiers to sanity check an offer, then confirm against the in game Recent Average Price on the listing itself.

S tier (36 fish)

Plus 22 more fish in this band on the values page.

The Forgotten Elemental Hydra at the very top, then the event and Ocean Secrets at the top of the odds table, quoted between 1 in 4,000,000 and 1 in 5,000,000. One of these is a landmark catch that most players will never land, and at a Plaza booth it is the kind of fish whole inventories get offered against. Hold out for the in game Recent Average Price and then some.

A tier (29 fish)

Plus 15 more fish in this band on the values page.

The rest of the Secret band plus the heaviest Mythics. These are realistic chase targets for a finished rod setup: still rare enough to anchor a trade, common enough that a dedicated player lands one in a long grind. This is the band where luck stacking starts to pay for itself.

B tier (39 fish)

Plus 25 more fish in this band on the values page.

Legendary fish and the top Mythics below the A line. A B tier catch funds a real rod upgrade on its own, and a mutated B tier fish trades like an A tier one. Most strong accounts are built out of steady B tier income rather than jackpot Secrets.

C tier (27 fish)

Plus 13 more fish in this band on the values page.

Epic fish and the stronger Rares. Individually modest, collectively the engine of the mid game: a session of C tier catches pays for bait, potions and the next rod tier without any single lucky pull. Sell these freely and keep the coins moving.

D tier (147 fish)

Plus 133 more fish in this band on the values page.

Commons, Uncommons and the easiest Rares. Their job is volume, not value: they fill the index, feed quests, and stack up in bulk at the sell point. Never build a trade around a D tier fish, and never feel bad about selling every one you catch.

The one practical takeaway

Value in this game is a ladder, not a lottery ticket you either hold or do not. Fish the highest band your rod Weight and Luck can work, sell the C and D tier bulk without a second thought, and let mutations do the dramatic work: a Galaxy roll on a B tier fish beats a plain A tier catch, which is why the mutation table on the values page matters as much as this list.

How these numbers work

The roster on this site is the 270 fish that the official Fish It wiki names with a rarity, a catch rate and a location in its live Fish index tables, read on November 6, 2026, plus 8 fish from the August to October 2026 expansions (Elemental Hydra, Spiritborn Axolotl, Vineyard Kraken, Soulveil Koi, Sky Blue Talon Shark, Midnight Blue Wildes Shark, Ashen Kingfish and Astrelle) named with rarity and location in the update patch notes and guides listed in the data notes. The wiki prose claims over 415 fish and OP.GG headers 300, but neither of those bigger counts comes with complete per fish fields, so this site publishes the fully documented 278 and says so. No source checked publishes a base sell price for any fish, and no community value list exists for this game, so every coin value here is an estimate arranged on a rarity ladder: each rarity has a base value sized against the rod prices the same wiki documents (250 coins for a Luck Rod up to 12,000,000 coins for a Bamboo Rod), and inside a rarity the value rises with the catch odds. Forgotten is a new rarity above Secret, holding the Elemental Hydra alone at the top of the ladder. The full method, the mutation sources and the replacement rule (a documented sell price replaces an estimate one for one) are written out in the data notes for this section.
