Scam safety in Pet Simulator 99

PS99 has better built in protection than most Roblox trading games, but the protection only works if you know it is there. These are the mechanics that guard you, and the habits that cover the gaps they leave.

The 3 second cooldown is working for you

A newly listed booth item cannot be bought for 3 seconds. That pause exists to stop bots and fat fingers, and it cuts both ways in your favour: a "mispriced" listing that appears and vanishes was never yours to grab, and your own listing mistakes have a moment of grace. Never panic buy in the first seconds of a listing, and never trust a screenshot of a price that is no longer listed.

Auction sniping does not work here

Auctions run 60 seconds, and a bid inside the final 15 seconds resets the clock to 15 seconds. There is no last second steal: the auction continues until bidding genuinely stops. The scam version of this is pressure: a seller or a shill bidder rushing you to bid big "before it ends". It does not end while you bid. Decide your ceiling from the variant's RAP before you enter, and let auctions that pass it go.

Check the price against RAP, every time

Booth prices are asking prices, and the Trading Terminal shows asking prices too. What buyers actually paid is RAP, calculated from completed sales. Before any significant purchase, run the exact pet and variant through the RAP checker: within 10 percent of RAP is the published fair band; beyond it you should know exactly why you are paying the difference. On thin variants (low exists), expect wild RAP and price even more carefully, because one odd sale can drag the average.

Untradable means untradable

Some items are flagged untradable and cannot move between players at all. Any deal that routes around that ("pay first, I will deliver it another way") is asking you to hand over diamonds for a delivery the game does not support. Keep every part of a trade inside the trade window or the booth system, where the game itself enforces the exchange.

Diamonds only move inside the game

Diamonds are the market currency, and they change hands through trades, booths and auctions inside the game. Offers to sell you diamonds or pets for cash outside the game sit outside the game's protection and outside Roblox's rules, and they are where the classic pay first, receive nothing scam lives. If a deal cannot happen inside the trade window, it is not a deal.

Set your trade access deliberately

Trading can be set to enabled, disabled, or friends only. Friends only is the calm default for most players: it shuts down random trade spam and pressure trades while keeping trades with people you actually know one click away.
